At some point, I think I have the final version ready to test. When would be a good time for folks?

The question is..... which do you care more about? smile.gif

Actually, just one of those "reformatting/backup" things that you PC people do on a weekly basis.... this is the first time in 5 years for me.

Only Lizards do such silly things ...

I think the last time I reformatted/rebuilt (my main PC) may have been 3 years ago. If you're a good PC user, Windows will be as stable as any other OS.

Side-bar:
I have a feeling that those drawn to purchasing (higher-priced) Macs are also more likely to be the type to be "safer-surfers" of the web, etc. Whereas all types of yahoos buy and use the $399 <insert>name-of-overly-large-pc-company-here</insert> ... carlessly navigating to every casino site on the planet while logged into a fully-privileged administrator account.

It's not the gun's fault Billy-Bob killed Punkin.

Sorry to hear you're having to rebuild, I know it's a pain. Let us know when you're back up and at 'em.

Precisely my point... one can even be a BAD mac user, using a fully priv'ed admin account and surfing to all the rodian casinos, and never have to do this. smile.gif Leave it to me to stuff a 6 year old machine with 3 hard drives, 2 graphics cards, a souped-up dual processor, and a partridge in a pear tree.

I am back and at' em. Rebuilding was easy, just time consuming. The new (hopefully final) map is up on the server. So far, I have noted only a couple minor bugs, which can still fall under the category of "feature," so we are getting close to finished....

It may not be the gun's fault but someone gave that gun to billybob.

*someone* yes ... the gun didn't walk itself there, but that's a discussion for an entirely different thread ...

Glad to hear that you are up and running.

JB

(and you know, if as many people owned Macs as own PCs -- I bet we'd see a different trend of statistical performance).

So what you're really saying is that...Your mac needs 2 graphics cards, and 'souped-up' dual processors to produce a whopping 23 FPS on your map... Reference photo:

I think that's fantastic! Especially since my inferior, unstable, Windows based PC...with ONE processor, and ONE graphics card..recreating the same photo (with a more attractive character, of course) can only produce this for a max FPS...

tell me about it. :/

though I did switch to maximum res/detail for that shot, it does kill my fps when I do so. I usually am around 40 on that room, which stinks. But hey... my comp IS 6 yrs. old.
