Hey... so you came to see what the Beast had to ask...
Before I post this question... I just want to say... that there is kind of a story behind it that made me wonder how the 'system' works I was looking at something on ebay... and I didn't find what I was looking for on ebay.ca... so I went to ebay.com, and found something quite close to what I was looking for on ebay.ca. But then I realize that the guy was in the US and I was in canada... so the price being an issue for a company starter with no money left in his pocket... I was wondering how much do I have to add to the stated price to take into account the customs. And that was my question... clearly stated it would sound like this Dumb Question: How does the customs (as in 'douanes' in french) works ??? Do you have to pay something to get something throught ??? If so, how much ??? Thx for everybody who will spend a minute or two wondering with me - Beast -------------------- "Separately, woman and alcohol can be quite fun... but when you mix them, they can make you a dumbass"

I wish I knew, beasty. Isn't there something on the Ebay site about that?
I think if the value is less than $50 there is no customs charges. R -------------------- Oobawanga wata chopay polah.

No the only thing mentionned on ebay or either the sellers page are that the customs charges varies from country to country.
But I found my answer today by calling the gouvernment Man it was long and tedious, but I spoke to someone who knew the answer. Here it goes. The only charges there is at the customs is the canadian taxes (about 15% of taxes) that would normally apply to a product bought in Canada But if the product is commercial and made in the US... then I have to pay a 7% of 'bonus' taxes And that's all... Man I really thought it was more complex than that... well as long as you stay away from importing firearms... that's another story. Hehe, thx for the wondering guys - Beast -------------------- "Separately, woman and alcohol can be quite fun... but when you mix them, they can make you a dumbass"
