It's 4:20 AM and I just walked in the door. At 5:30 PM. on 11/15/2004, my dad was involved in an accident on Rt40. A car rear-ended him, flipping his truck over 4 times before it came to rest on the side of the road. He was flown to Shock Trauma. Luckily he managed to avoid hitting any other cars.

Right now he's doing okay, but since he is on blood thinners for heart problems we had to wait for the bleeding to stop. He has some back problems and a broken ankle, but he'll be okay. It's been a long night.

I'm going to get a few hours sleep before heading back down to Shock Trauma.

My parents dog was in the car with him at the time and he's doing fine. The person who hit my dad took the dog and we're picking it up tomorrow. Good to know the guy isn't a major asshole.

My God ... just ... My God.

I've only had one accident in my life worth mentioning, and it had a way of being unbelieveably unnerving while caught up in it. Thank goodness time is a great mental healer.

Best wishes to you and your family. If you need anything, give a holler.

JB

Thanks all. He's doing pretty good today. Hopefully they'll release him soon. The last time we checked they were waiting to fit him with a back brace.

A bit of good news though... the puppy is doing great and is back to his usually playing and peeing... good to see some things never change biggrin.gif

Thanks again,
Deacon

Thanks for the well wishes all!

My dad is home and getting better. He might have some back problems from this, but we'll see.

I'll keep you posted as things change.

Ah Man... I just saw this thread... so sorry I didn't write sooner... bang.gif

It's good to see that you're dad is getting better... I still wish him to get even better.

It's pretty obvious that everyone was thinking about you... and I'm just adding myself to the bunch... hope it's not too late for my 'positive influence' to reach your father's back smile.gif

Nope, not too late. Well wishes are always welcome!

Alls good for now. He'll go back early next week for some more tests. Hopefully he'll be able to take the neck brace off then.

Thanks!

I'm by far the slowest to read this.. but my heart goes out to you. It's a terrible thing that has happened to you, and I'm happy everything seems to be working out well. I hope it continues rapidly getting better.
