OK I got it. I used the addbot command, forced the team to spectate, checked to make sure it was in slot 0 and renamed to client 0. Thanks for your help.

OK...it works. But is the bot client 0? It is in the 1 slot.

Isn't that command only valid in CTF mode?

I was wondering if it was possible (and how) to make a bot spectate...and stay there? You know....to be client 0.

Uh...Xero, I think the reason I have not heard of Final Fantasy is that I am an "Old Timer" you were likely not even born when I ventured out into the work force and real life.

I have to say that I am flattered to be on JayBaen's "to do" list as seen in the NEWS section. (I am famous now...hehe) Well we met on the server the following day by coincidence. It was a grand experience for me despite losing all but one of our matches (He is slipperyer than a Mississpi sturgeon). I look forward to a rematch in the future : )

just wanted to say that I had a great time on the server yesterday, dueling Rugg and Waddle. I wish more could come out to play during the day.

I poke my head in every now and then, but usually nothing but bots. I have to play during the day on my office computer because my home PC is crap and I end up embarassing myself. I've been working on a few new moves, so.....kill me if you can. hehehe

There is a clear CMOS jumper on the board...which I used. I have reset everything in the BIOS and the AGP is set to 2x...(maximum)
The video card is set to 2x

No change in frame rate sad.gif

I did notice in the task manager, that the game runs the cpu full out. So...it is probably a matter of being too underpowered to bump up the framerate. Hopefully, In the next few weeks I will be able to upgrade the board and processor.

Thanks for everybody's assistance
EPIC:

1) What were your framerates prior to the new video card?

2) Is this for JK2, or JK3?

3) Was your old video card an nVidia based chipset as well, or something else?

4) Which drivers are you using with the new video card, ones from the manufacturer of the card, or reference drivers from nVidia?

4) What mode of AGP can your MOBO support, 2X, 4X etc.

5) Does your Video card require that an IRQ be assigned for the video?  Is it set to do so in the BIOS?

Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense.

JB
1-framerates are about the same....maybe 5-10 fps faster
2-jk2
3-old card was a TNT2
4-the latest download from nVidia and I quote "The industry's only true Unified Driver Architecture (UDA) - supports over five generations of NVIDIA GPUs - from TNT to GeForce FX - all in a single driver binary "
4 again- mode?...I dont understand
5- again I dont understand

I have bought a new video card, but I am experencing a low fps (ranging from low teens to low 30s)
It is a geforce4 mx440se 64mbDDR and I have downloaded the latest driver. Changing graphic settings (game and driver) has no effect at all. My PC is a P3 750 with 396 pc133RAM, Windows 2000Pro, Directx9. Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated.
