unfortunate when i got my new gaming rig, i had to download JK2 and Jk3 through steam and im lost on if I can add mods to the game or not. took me forever to find the multiplayer option
*

LP - Yes, you can still add the mods - same process. Simply drop the mod directory into the JKO directory structure and it should just "see" it as it used to. You're gonna have to hunt that directory structure based on where your steam install put the games. Mine (and I think this is the default) are located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

There will be subfolders in there for any games you have purchased/downloaded from steam.

This is my Game directory for JKO (and where the mods subfolders live):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Outcast\GameData

It's an interesting question.

I bought Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided (years ago) for my wife and I to play together (side-by-side at the same computer, basically taking turns). Set aside the fact that it was a walking simulator (ugh!) eventually, Lucas Arts decided the game's time was over. They were no longer going to run the servers and there would be a scripted "ending" to the game - which everyone in-game at the time would witness and participate in.

But, what if YOU (and your community of friends) weren't done with the game? There was no reason it had to end, aside of LA not wanting to pay the bill any longer.

Games like JO can literally live on as long as we want them to.

But, to your original point - should they?

Should Happy Days have gone off the air before it literally jumped the shark? Probably.

I don't know who/what is really the right answer here. Maybe there's more than one and is community dependent.

I've been playing way too much Overwatch (2) - which, is of course, centralized servers.

On the other side, I have a Minecraft server which I had shut down years ago, but recently resurrected as my son and his friends wanted to play again. This I run along side of the JK server(s). The great thing is, I can pick the version - and they wanted to play 1.12 (before the Pillager update). Good ol' fashion Minecraft, before all the "weight." Options. I like options that I can control.

Awesomeness. I came by a Steam copy a while back. Will try to drop in soon...when Sublime comes up in the rotation. thumbup.gif

Well, I tried, but RJ's server didn't come up in the list. Must be my lousy Internet connection as is traditional.
*

It should be in the list - heartbeats seem to be working, and I can query/get new list and it's showing in my client. (I can also connect locally - but, I do see it showing in the master). Let me know if you still don't.

Well...maybe...possibly...with the exception of the main quest. I...don't know. As has been said by others who play far more games than me, "It's From Software, so scr*** you."  laugh.gif

Though I've not played Elden Ring - *every* other Baldur's Gate game, et. al. seem to follow the same course of dialogue/questing, since the early ones.

Infinite - if you happen to know of a more updated URL for any of the links we still have here, please let me know and I'll update.

Xero! Good to have you stop by. I'd love to get a little party together to jump in and have some fun. It's amazing how fun it still is - no other game quite like it, still. Just give a heads up when you know you'll be around so those of us still following along might be able to join you.

Obviously, I'm just catching up on old posts this morning. UGH! Yes - absolutely we could, or Azure or any other number of places. I still have several pieces of hardware available and good connectivity to do it at zero cost. I just tend to take the hardware off-line when it's not being used to save resources. BUT, if there's enough interest, I'm happy to crank it back up - wherever. Locally or cloud. What's your thoughts?

Not sure how I missed this post - I lurk, as well. Game still installed - on occasion, I wander Sublime and Colloquium. I forget how great those map accomplishments were. I even dug up some of our lesser played ones (still custom) and wandered for an entire Sunday afternoon. I've moved equipment back and forth and need to get something back up, even if for only posterity. It would be great to romp about with the two of you. GREAT memories tied up in all of this - and for sooooo many hours. (looks for server configs ....)

** EDIT ** 15 years, or so? Sound about right?

Sorry - I missed this initially. Glad Hammy responded with something. I *do* have the servers available, they just aren't on-line at the moment - but certainly can be. Let me take a peek at that over the next week and see if I can blow the dust off of them. (Yes, there's still TS available, if needed/wanted). Would sure be fun to see a few folks again ...

This seems to have the most possible accurate information:

BUT - none of this actually clarified by Abrams or Kasdan. Just LOTS of speculation by everyone.

Now that my little Jedis are getting old enough to self entertain - I'm able to play a little more than I used to (whatever the flavor of game is). Interestingly, I'm running into a few folks in JK2 who, like me, have been out of it for sometime, but are resurfacing. Some old friends, some I never knew, but we all sort-of knew of each other.

Let me know when you think you're around.

Found myself on the JJ FFA server this morning. Got my rear end handed to me for the first 20 minutes - but then starting handing some rear end back. It's like riding a bicycle - although, there are definitely a few folks out there much more <erm> practiced </erm> than I can quickly catch up to. Oh - the hours it would take ...

Let me know if anyone's interested in getting a little in-shape again.
