linky-poo?
...No comment. Just so you know, the bar/dance floor crap is in the center of the map. (Had a great FFA in the pantry, though.) All travel to other areas is off of that central space. Good duels in larger Oriental arena (last door on the left, tele to get there). Bespin pad a little smaller than original Bespin, I think. |

if the review mentions poor fps, then it probably is not worth the use. I will poke around too...

Universal is not half bad. It does have a few FPS drops, but seemingly only in the "main" center room (which, isn't where you'd be dueling anyway).
Not bad. I'll get it on the server (not in rotation) so that we can test drive it sometime. JB -------------------- Yellow Is Golden

Remember the Jedi Academy map? (June 2002) Great FPS. Nice dueling areas. Used to play this one on the A**hole Free and TMBJ servers. Maybe this'll jog your memory:
. But, since I can't find a link to it, I've put the map HERE for your consideration. |

Yeah Great map... The Jedi Academy one.
The version Infi is showing in her screenshot (v2 I think)... was my home for quite a while... when I was training to become 'RJ material' Naturally it is the map of the Jedi Academy community (Here)... and I have to agree with infi... great dueling area... great FFA area and great FPS. But... if we want to include it in our rotation... maybe we should ask... even if it's out of consideration. - Beast -------------------- "Separately, woman and alcohol can be quite fun... but when you mix them, they can make you a dumbass"

Beast ...
Good idea. Since you have some 'history' with them, would you mind doing the honors? In the mean time, I've added Jedi Academy and Universal maps to the server so that we can all look at them some evening. JB -------------------- Yellow Is Golden

WEll Jay... done what you ask and here is the answer I got from the Community Liaison of the Jedi Acamedy
QUOTE Beast, Yes, I do indeed remember you. Well, you certainly have come to the right person, both because I am the 'Liason' and I actually built the map. Hehe. I noticed that you mentioned wanting to include the Map into a Server rotation for JO? I should let you know that the Map was built specifically for JK:JA, and although the Map could be used for JO, it wouldn't be as good and you may encounter quite a few errors/bugs. The most obvious/common would be the missing Textures. As you probably already know, JK3, uses alot of new textures and has renamed alot of the ones kept from JK2. This also inclused system textures such as area portals, hint brushes etc, which could drastically decrease FPS and increase Ping/Lag. The JK3 engne also uses a brighter lightmap intensity than JK2, therefore, the map will appear alot brighter than it is when run on a JK3 Server. Nevertheless you have my blessing to use it on your Server. I'm always thrilled to hear that people enjoy it and want to run it on their own servers. And thank you for contacting me about this aswell, I appreciate your honor. Good to hear from you again. - Virtue. I think he thought I was talking about the latest version of the Jedi Academy Map... but if we want to use it on the JK2 server... we would have to use a prior version (v2 I think)... but I guess we still have there blessing - Beast -------------------- "Separately, woman and alcohol can be quite fun... but when you mix them, they can make you a dumbass"

Thx Beast, good form.
I played the version that Infi gave me the linky-poo to, and it ran just fine on JO, so maybe we have the right version after all. JB -------------------- Yellow Is Golden
