Is there ANY options where you're at, for home internet?  Or is is just through your smartphone?

There are. Mostly bundled with a bunch of other junk, of course.
Budget just doesn't allow it, atm.

I can relate to the whole budget thing. My dsl is bundled with a traditional land line. With my health issues, I'd rather have a traditional phone line over a cable phone line, as cable goes out way more often, and if the power goes out, there goes that phone line.

With where I live, it's just a bit too far to get "most" of the Seattle area broadcast stations. Most of the time, I can only get 4 stations with a digital antenna, on a good day, up to 9, with the 5 I don't always get, being religious stations. I have no interest in those 5. lol

So, I'm stuck paying the cable company for local only. Runs me $45 and change per month for that, a dvr and the taxes associated with it. I wind up getting about 90% of the local stations that way.

I could always do the "bundle" thing, with the tv service I'm paying for, and their internet, but as I said, they measure data usage. Yuck....
