I left my computer on when I went out to the mall a few days ago only to return with all the clocks reset in the house, meaning the power must of gone out, Anyways My computer had been screwed big time. Luckily the only thing that was damaged was my graphics card (Radeon 9800 pro 128) it's officially fried, I was able o swipe my computer and return everything back to normal for the most part. And I still have my old ancient graphics card that the computer came with so I still will be able to play this game!.... just not at high qaulity..

Did you have a surge protector? Just interested in knowing if those things really work or if its all CompUSA mumbo-jumbo.

That's a sucky thing to happen.
For what it's worth - I've got not only surge-protectors on any gear I care about, but one's with a bit of battery backup in them. I highly recommend that. They don't need much battery, in fact, you can get APC ones for about $35 that do the job. They'll give you between 5 and 10 minutes of running power (depending on how high your load is), which is plenty when it comes to power spikes, brown outs and the like. $35 sure beats spending *another* couple hundred bucks on a new graphics card (and a potential rebuild, depending on what you lose).
